Description

In this three-week course, you will learn to knit a basic “vanilla” sock. From cuff to toe, you will practice how to knit a heel flap, turn a heel and decrease the toe. The class will be taught in magic loop on 32” circular needles.

Our first class will cover casting on and knitting the cuff and leg. The second class will teach you to knit your heel flap, turn your heel, and knit the gusset. The final class will go over toe decreases and how to close the toe using the kitchener stitch.

Students will learn how to knit two-stranded colorwork by holding one color in their left hand (Continental) and one color in their right hand (English). This class will be taught using Magic Loop - students should have experience with this technique. Students should come to the first class with their cuff finished, ready to start the color work chart. We will discuss yarn management, how to read a colorwork chart, and begin the chart together. The second class will discuss decreases and picking up the thumb, and our last class will teach you to bind off using a sewn bind off. 

The Warm and Thick Flower Mittens are a one-size mitten knit with worsted weight yarn. The size can be modified with changes to yarn choice and gauge, please reach out before the start of classes if you have questions and need to modify the pattern.
